Red Eye ToBack to the game

Privacy policy

Last updated October 23, 2026

Red Eye To is a free daily geography game at redeyeto.com. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and there are no ads.

If you play without an account

Your streak, personal bests and tonight's attempts are saved in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers. Clearing your browser data erases them.

We count visits with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service that doesn't use cookies or track you across websites. It records things like which page was opened, the site that sent you (for example a link on another website), and game events such as “nightly finished”. It doesn't record who you are.

If you create an account

WhatWhy
Your email addressTo sign you in, send sign-in and password-reset links, and confirm the address is yours.
Your password, if you set oneTo sign you in. It's stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody, including us, can read it.
Your Google account ID and email, if you use Continue with GoogleTo sign you in. We only ask Google for your basic profile and email address.
Your usernameTo identify you in the game. Nobody else sees it yet; it will appear on leaderboards if we add them.
Your game resultsScores, the cities and headings you played, your accuracy and timing, and the dates you played, so we can show your streak, bests and history on any device.
The dates you visit while signed in, and where you first came fromTo understand how many players come back, so we can improve the game.
A sign-in cookieKeeps you signed in on that device for up to a year. It's only used for signing in.

For security, your IP address and email may be held briefly to limit repeated sign-in attempts and email requests. These records are deleted automatically within a couple of days.

Who else handles your data

We don't sell or rent your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

If Red Eye To is ever sold, merged or transferred to a new owner, the account information described here would move to that owner as part of the game, and this policy would continue to apply to it. Account holders would be told before any such change, and anyone who prefers can delete their account first.

Emails

We only email you when you ask us to (a sign-in link or password reset) or to confirm your address when you create an account. No newsletters or marketing unless you separately agree to them in the future.

Your choices

Children

Red Eye To isn't directed at children under 13, and children under 13 shouldn't create an account. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let account holders know.
